Daughter of Smoke & Bone - Laini Taylor I was really impressed with the richness of the world building for this book. Many urban fantasy's take short cuts, using stock mythology's to do their work for them. Taylor wrote in such a way that an entirely new world was created that contained enough subtle hints to weave it's way into human history in a way completely unexpected. The writing style was rich and fluid, sounding poetic even as it moved the plot along on a fast clip. I loved it!
