This was such a strong sequel. I wasn't the worlds biggest fan of the first one, but this book turned out to be pretty awesome. After the events of the first book Elder and Amy are now trying to ride the waves of change above the generation ship Godspeed. It's a pretty bumpy journey with a mutinous population, well meaning but misguided people, and another murderer on the loose. Yes, once again you get the sci-fi/mystery combo that started with Across the Universe. Sometimes the extreme emotions were a little overwhelming and I had to put the book down. I understand that people would be angry after discovering that they were being drugged into submission over countless generations but I really liked Elder and just wanted people to stop giving him a hard time. I'm really looking forward to the ending to this trilogy and Beth Revis's career as a whole. If she continues to improve there's not telling how many stars she could reach.
