Heartsick (Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell) - Chelsea Cain Heartsick is a a lukewarm murder mystery but a phenomenal character story. The whodonit is place in the backseat to the relationship between Archie and Gretchen, the cop and the serial killer who caught him. As Archie tries to prove that he can reclaim his life he invites Susan into his newest case. A reporter with a lot to prove Susan has a good heart but she won't pull her punches when it comes to Archie and the serial killer escalating in Portland. While it fascinated me Heartsick was incredibly gritty, so much so that at times I felt really uncomfortable. The ending wrapped things up well enough that I'm really tempted to read the next one, but we'll see.
