This book was both expected and unexpected. The plot, dispite seeming really different from the get go, turned a little bit formulaic. I liked the twists and the darkness that Hodkin keeps in Mara. The thing that really sparkled in Unbecoming is the dialogue. Everything else aside, it was phenomenal. It took characters that I didn't like or didn't understand and made them people I could hear and know. I'm already about to devour the next one for that alone.
