Heartless - Gail Carriger The Parasol Protectorate strides mightily forward in it's fourth book. There's another dastardly plot that must be solved and Lady Alexia and friends are once again up to the task. One of the things I love about this series is that the over-the-top voice never lets up. I think if Carriger ever stopped to wink at her audience it would be ridiculous. Since she doesn't it's hilarious! Another thing I loved about Heartless is that it's heroine is pregnant. Very pregnant. I've found that when a women is pregnant in books it's generally glossed over. She's either in her early stages or it influences her minimally. Instead Carriger deals with all the inconveniences pregnancy brings without letting it slow down her characters. Serious kudos to her.
