You know when you say that you love a main character because their believable snarky? Well, you haven't read Death's Daughter. Calliope Reaper-Jones is the very, very real version of a chick with an attitude, and it doesn't always come off very well. In fact, I had a hard time wondering what they main guy saw in her. On top of that some of her reactions didn't fit with her personality. On the other hand I really liked how sometimes she just sat down and cried and other times she dug her heels in and worked.
Believe it or not, Callie's personality really is the book. The plot isn't bad and the side characters are fun/lame in progression. I don't know that I would recommend Death's Daughter but I'll probably read the sequel.
