The Winds of Khalakovo - Bradley P. Beaulieu I'm done. Winds of Khalakovo is an epic fantasy with a steep learning curve. Not quite Gardens of the Moon, but it's up there. Initially that was confusing, then interesting as I feel into a varied culture and thoroughly detailed world. As I got a little bit less enamored with the world building I saw the weakness of the plot. If any Wheel of Time fans are out there, this book is like reading the Elaine parts by themselves. Winds is all politics, almost no action. Blah. Elaine parts were my least favorite, and I have no desire to read them all by themselves written by an author less talented then Jordan. Ergo, this book is dead in the water at my house.
