The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern Despite what my goodreads data optimistically tells you, I've actually been reading the Night Circus for three or four months. It's verbiage is lush and it's world inscrutable. I was caught up in the hype just like everyone else, and Night Circus deserves all it's hype. It truly is a remarkable novel. My problem with it is that while it has a veneer of fantasy, it is a literary novel at heart. I came to it from the fantasy fan perspective and was unable to truly appreciate it for what it was. Instead I found the dense and often meandering plot off-putting. I'm glad I read it but I probably won't read it again.
