The Hero and the Crown - Robin McKinley Today I finished reading my second novel by Robin McKinley. This would be small beans except for the fact that the first, the Blue Sword, was the book that convinced me that fantasy was the genre for me, something that remains true a decade and a half later. The Hero and the Crown is proof positive to me that it wasn't just genre that swept me away, it was excellent writing and a fantastic story.
