Still three stars, but this series might be on it's way up. If your struggling with the series, the beginning of Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet might do you in. It almost did me! The inter-personal relationships are pretty awful. For a writer with two incredibly damaged protagonists Jones writes emotions like a hamfisted longshoreman. The worst of that is in the beginning, further in there starts being actual character development. Luckily for me because after Charlie's sunny attitude after abuse was piled on abuse had become too much. Now I'll still pick up the next one.
