Languish (Haunting Violet) - Alyxandra Harvey I'm going to assume that this is Harvey's on spec sequel to Haunting Violet and it means that this series is gone for good. I'm sad to hear it since it was one of my first YA's that I truly loved. How does Languish compare? It's a novella leangth for a full novel worth of story so the plot felt a little rush. Add that to the inability for the author to grow the characters due to lack of space and it would be easy to feel disappointing. Luckily for me other reviewers had girded my loins and I was able to go into Languish with novella sized expectations. It turned out to be a fun look back into one of the more original YA universes of 2011. If you liked Haunting Violet you'll love Languish.
